Light stayed.
Water was moved around
so no one would have to drown
just to get started.

Cruelty wasn’t necessary.
Fear felt like extra work.
Order didn’t need to hurt
to hold.

When something was beautiful,
it wasn’t corrected.
It wasn’t asked to justify itself.
It was left alone.

The ones who noticed they were naked
weren’t shamed.
The ones who asked questions
and ate anyway
weren’t punished.
Knowledge didn’t ruin anything.
It just made it visible.

Love didn’t have to look right
to count.
Sameness wasn’t required
to make sense of things.
Difference was information,
not a threat.

If something failed,
it wasn’t kindness.
It was oversight.
Things were allowed to keep going
long after they learned
how to hurt each other.

Care was never promised
to be efficient.
Tenderness was never said
to scale.
Only that it could exist
at all.
